As you enter Craigdarroch House you will be immediately struck by the special ambience:- old fashioned wood panelling, high cornice ceilings and period furnishings. The owners, Martin and Elinor Donnelly, were rising stars of the Glasgow restaurant scene before realising their dream of countryside living, and the food at Craigdarroch lives up to the very highest expectations. Dine by candle light in the dining room, which features the freshest local produce from both land and sea. Martin has recently been awarded 2 Red Rosettes for cuisine by the AA Hotel & Restaurant Guide.

The surrounding area is full of natural beauty, with fascinating walks along the loch and through the forests at Foyers, Dores, Inverfarigaig and Fort Augustus. Some of the world's best boating, fishing and shooting are found nearby, as well as a huge range of scenic, top quality golf courses. There is also biking, horse riding, canoeing and kayaking, plenty of castles and battlefields for an historic day out or the chance to nose the fine whiskies of the Highlands' distilleries.
